STI Screening

At the Amertha Clinic,  STI screening and HIV testing is performed by the medical staff and the on-site. Additionally, counseling is provided  both before and after the results and anytime as needed. Screening services are available to the general public and is free for those who cannot afford to pay.

There is strong epidemiological relationship between HIV and other STIs: the presence of other STIs increase susceptibility to HIV infection. The early detection and treatment of STIs is a prevention strategy for reducing sexually transmitted HIV. In Bali, the HIV epidemic is predominantly transmitted sexually and reducing the risk of transmission through STI treatment is an important prevention effort in addition to education and promotion of condom use.
